I recently encountered an unusual and somewhat disconcerting aspect of the hiring process that I believe warrants attention and improvement. I was required to record a video before being granted a face-to-face interview, which was an unexpected and challenging experience.
While I understand the need for modern recruitment methods, the video requirement felt overwhelming and added unnecessary stress to the initial stages of the application process. It would be beneficial for the hiring team to consider the potential discomfort or anxiety this may cause for candidates and reevaluate this aspect of the process.

I applied online in August 2023 I applied on LinkedIn and got a generic email about the "next step in our application process" which was to fill out a culture index survey. I was then sent another automated email almost immediately afterward informing me that they decided not to move forward. Any company that relies on automated culture index surveys is a red flag. If an organization with less than 100 employees can't take the time to get to know candidates organically then good riddens.
