      Entretien

After applying I received an email for an interview but this was actually a video AI interview. They said it would only take 30 minutes but of course it took over an hour! After pouring a lot of time and thought into each answer and many video retakes I was ghosted for weeks and then received a rejection. The impersonality of the process just showed me they do not value your time but it also showed me they invest in AI. I don't think a video AI recorded interview really gives hiring managers the understanding on a candidates experience and for this I was disappointed. BIG WASTE OF TIME

Thank you for sharing your experience and for the time you put into the process! We want to clarify that our video interviews are recorded but reviewed entirely by real humans on our team, so your responses absolutely received personal attention. That said, we hear you on the time commitment and the communication gap after your interview, and we appreciate the honest feedback as we look for ways to keep candidates better informed throughout the process.

      Entretien

This was one of the worst interview processes I have ever experienced. My application had been passed up a few months ago, without so much as a message to inform me of any progress or declination. I recently heard from the "first interviewer" out of the blue, as they were revisiting some older applications and wanted to know if I may still be interested in a similar role to the one I had applied for originally. Naturally, I was excited to have a renewed opportunity to work with an organization that seemingly aligns so closely with my experience and passion for education and technology. The conversation with the "first interviewer" felt somewhat aggressive, but nevertheless I advanced to the second round. The only stage of interviews that I felt a genuine connection was actually made was the second round, wherein the interviewer and I spoke about real strategy and was a productive conversation. The second interviewer was not a hiring manager but was part of the team responsible for recruitment and candidate selection. The third stage of interviews was together with the "hiring manager" and an "aligned team leader." The aligned team leader and I were both on time for the call and traded initial pleasantries, while the hiring manager was several minutes late to join and proceeded to impose control over the call structure. It was stated that the hiring manager would be asking me questions and the aligned team leader would also ask further questions to dig into certain topics, but that the aligned team leader would have to drop for a conflict midway through. Beyond initial introductions, the aligned team leader never got a word in edgewise... What proceeded from here was anything but a productive conversation. At every point, I was made to defend my experience in an extremely combative "pressure" style interview. The aligned team leader looked taken aback several times as questions were being asked of me that undermined my experience, designed to keep me on the back foot, insulted me - along with a misunderstanding of a previous employer and why I would have deployed MEDDPICC as a methodology, when it was erroneously presumed that the previous employer company's size would not have dictated its usage. In fact, that previous employer is one of the heaviest hitters in the industry. I walked away from that interview feeling belittled and having my intelligence questioned. That was the worst interview experience I have ever endured. While I understand that the market is extremely competitive right now, that is no reason to treat people this way, especially when your business model is allegedly "mission driven." I absolutely would not recommend MagicSchool to any job seeker and frankly, after that treatment, I question their commitment to the mission they say that they embrace.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

It was a nonstop barrage of questions which were not productive and seemed to have been designed to find as many opportunities to disqualify me as quickly as possible. It would have been preferred to have been either up front with any concerns and just tell me they weren't interested in me rather than what I experienced. Even if I had made it to another stage with this company, I would have declined. This experience says enough about the culture of this organization. Applicants beware.

Thank you for taking the time to share this, and we are truly sorry that your experience left you feeling disrespected and undervalued. The treatment you've described in that third round does not reflect the kind of process we want to run, and your frustration is completely valid. We take this seriously and will be using your feedback to have some important internal conversations about how our interviewers show up for candidates.
