Entretien pour Health and Safety Manager

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez MTB Group (Budapest) en janv. 2018

      Entretien

I was phoned about a Health and Safety Manager role I had applied for. They praised my profile and we scheduled a suitable date for a face-to-face appointment at their headquarter. The meeting was with the CEO and a French lady who did not even bother explaining what her role in the company was. As I said, I thought I was being interviewed for a managerial role, however, the interviewers turned the tables on me - apparently, I was being interviewed for a Team Leader role (with a completely different range of benefits than what I had based my decision to attend on) with later on the chance to perhaps progress to the managerial position advertised. This probably was the most unprofessional move, but sadly not the only one: - clearly, they had not prepared for the interview at all - they had no real meaningful questions to ask me, they kept on asking the same question over and over again like if they expected a different answer each time, and then they looked at each other all the time rather than at myself like if they were deciding the questions on the spot, and as such there were too many things they would have liked to discuss but could not as long as I was present; - they expected myself to tell them how much I should be paid (common thing in Hungary, I must say) so they could perhaps pay me less than they had initially envisaged. Funny question when you are being invited for a role which then turns out to be something else; - they could not tell whether it was a Health and Safety or HSE-related role, showcasing worrisome lack of competency; - they showed questionable manners, e.g. the CEO made some inconvenient jokes about the fact that I could have made up my CV to impress, etc. and they gossiped about the guy who had left the position I had applied for. - they were so much in a rush (hence the superficiality of the interview, probably), that I nearly felt kicked out and did not even get a final, polite handshake. N.B. I got to the appointment on time, which shows their poor time management skills; Had I known the job advertised did not really exist yet, I would have never invested time and money to prepare for the interview and attend the appointment. I felt robbed of my time and hopes and I felt my skills and experiences ridiculed throughout the worst interview I have ever attended. If I had to trenchantly describe this experience, I'd say it was awkward, deceiving and unprofessional. They emailed 2 days later to offer me the role, which of course I rejected.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Are you really sure you want to do this job? (asked at least 5 times) What were you doing in your previous job? Ok, so for example how would you carry out a risk assessment...you know, just to see whether you've really done the job before and your CV is not made up, haha. What would be first things you'd do in your new role? Why you want to stay in Budapest? Why did you come Budapest? (asked at least 3 times)
