I interviewed at MSCI for ESG in June 2016. Referred by one of my friend working at MSCI.
Interview Process:
Interview 1 : F2F technical interview for around 45 min. Basic java and database questions asked.
Interview 2 : Telephonic interview. There were 3 interviewers 1ED and 2VPs. This was an onsite round and was supposed to be technical but not much technical questions were asked and interview lasted only for 20 min. They only asked about technical stack and architecture of my current project.
Interview 3 : Telephonic technical interview. Basic java and database questions were asked.
Interview 4 : F2F HR interview. Salary negotiation round where HR told me that she got a very positive feedback about me but one more round is there which is just a management round.
Interview 5 : Telephonic managerial interview . All the questions asked in this round is functional. Questions asked are :
How the ESG application makes money?
How we do business?
What our clients expect from us?
How providing rating to the market is benefits client?
I failed to give proper answer of these questions as I have very little knowledge which I gathered online. His next question is if you don't know the functionality then I don't see any reason for you to join us. Weird!!!!!! I cleared all the rounds. HR get back to me and said they didn't get positive feedback for me.

Meet with a team, 30 min discussion around basic technical and behavioral questions. E.g., why msci, providing background to the team, ask background from candidate, basic math and cs questions…
Interview process was pretty regular. They kept me posted throughout the process and response time was not bad. I applied to a few different positions at different points and got interviewed for one

Moved through interview process quite quickly, with 3 rounds of interviews in the span of 3 weeks. Ended up finding out over a month later that I was not selected after following up twice with HR. Frustrating process overall with the lack of communication despite positive interviews.
