2 very casual conversations. Asked about experience. Sold the perks of the company and promised work life balance but didn't deliver on this. They didn't seem to have read my cv prior to the interview though

      Entretien pour Project Manager

      17 sept. 2024
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme

      Aucune offre
      Expérience négative
      Entretien facile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez MRI Software (Solon, OH)

      Entretien

Recruiter found my resume in the applicant tracking system (I had applied some time in the past) and contacted me for a Project Manager role. Went through a phone screen, a culture/personality test, and 3 separate rounds of interviewers with peers and the hiring manager. Everything was going smoothly - interviews were scheduled in a timely fashion, recruiter as communicative and I received nothing but good feedback on my interview performance - until the interview with the hiring manager concluded. At the end of my interview with him (he's a VP), he mentioned that I might need to do yet another round of interview with the CHRO....and that's when I knew the shenanigans would begin. They knew I had another off on the table so I needed them to make a decision quickly. The VP is perfectly capable of hiring who he wants for his team, a meeting with CHRO was not a critical need and we all knew it. All of a sudden nobody can be reached when previously the process was going so smoothly. A whole day and a half passed and the recruiter just couldn't get in contact with the VP or the CHRO. I had no choice, but to accept my other offer which is exactly what they wanted. I am a woman of color and I'm convinced they just didn't want me on the team - there isn't a single person of color on the US-based team. Women of Color go through this so much in Corporate America...interviewed for DE&I metrics, but never actually hired/promoted for anything other than entry-level/lower paying roles. I'm sure they told the team that the issue was just a matter of timing and I had accepted a job elsewhere...it's a lie - I was backed into a corner and they needed a way out of hiring me. This is the trauma women of color have to continuously carry with us. I was qualified (again, the recruiter reached out to me for the job!), I interviewed well (again, I received nothing but positive feedback) and should have been offered the job. But Bias will always trump "positive feedback" MRI, Do Better!
