My CV quickly got me to the next stage which is the online PLI and PI tests. The PLI test was, as warned, very tough; to answer 50 very complex questions in 12 minutes! That's 1 answer required every 14.4 seconds to answer all 50! I was very enthusiastic about working for Maersk so I steeled myself for the challenge and went for it. I piqued HR's interest with the results as was emailed the next day with an invite for the phone interview stage, the next day. I had a pleasant 40 minutes chat with a Philippines based recruiter but knew from where the recruiter was based, I had that strange feeling that I was off to a bad start. There wasn't much local knowledge of the role and the local ways and environment. I was going to be judged by Philippines standards, not by local standards e.g. mannerisms, accent. I did initially think I did well and was advised I would hear from the local hiring manager in 48 hours. I was lied to and was deluding myself, living in hope. After 4 business days of not hearing from anyone I emailed the recruiter about progress. After 3 more days of silence I emailed again. That was 2 weeks ago and still there has not been a word from the recruiter. I have had to give up and move on to another job. I can't wait around. I have a family to feed. I really wanted this job and could have done it with my eyes closed. It was to be a match made in heaven. Is this stoney silence part of the recruitment strategy to find the most patient person or the absolute height of rudeness and inconsideration and typical of HR and their complete disregard for the individual?

The interview was very professional and formal. I was asked first to complete an exam similar to an IQ test. Once the interview began it was actually quite relaxing. The HR staff were trying to understand the person and not just the candidate which I found insightful.
I also had a PLI test (liek a personality quiz) which was provided to me for feedback. I believe it's used to see how well you would fit within your department working alongside colleagues to avoid any sort of personalities clashing.
All in all, a good experience from Maersk.
