After completing two phone interviews and a technical interview, I was given a home assignment. However, after submitting the assignment, there was a lack of communication for two weeks without a given reason. It was mentioned to me right after the first technical interview that I was not their top candidate. In such a situation, it is unclear why I was asked to complete the home assignment in the first place.
