      Entretien pour Developer

      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      Boston, MA
      Aucune offre
      Expérience neutre
      Entretien facile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez LogicManager (Boston, MA) en août 2021

      Entretien

Very unusual process. I was recruited and given a lot of positive feedback throughout. First interview was a quick chat with the department head about the position. I asked more questions than she did. The second was a 3 hour interview with 6 different people including the CEO. Again, they asked me very few questions and the whole thing felt very odd. The technical questions they did ask were shockingly basic.

      Entretien

      1. Telephonic conversation lasted for 25 mins about previous experiences, HR Questions and visa status. 2. Aptitude and logical reasoning test 3. Zoom interview related to technical questions 4. Xoom interview with CEO I framed these points to have a better understanding for everyone. But the process is not clear at all and they don’t know what they want and they have not at all having an idea what their requirement is about. I literally wasted two weeks of my time. Please stay away from these kinda interview process, it would reduce your confidence level.

      Entretien

I was contacted by somebody in HR after my profile was found through Linkedin. After an initial screening call with HR in the morning I then had a call with the tech hiring manager in the afternoon. Basic questions were asked in regard to my background and the motivations behind the various activities and technologies I was involved in. Next was a small programming assignment involving React and a rest API. After that, an on-site interview was scheduled about one week away. The HR communication was a bit disorganized and they had failed to give me any details about the interview or send me the address and instructions on how to get to the interview, so I contacted them the day before for a confirmation and the address. The on-site interview was intense. 4 rounds and lasted about three hours: The first round was with an application architect, he asked me whiteboard the architecture for one of my projects I had been working on and then asked me questions about the motivation behind some design choices. In the end he gave a short math word problem to solve. It was simple, but a good warm up for the next round. For the second round two developers walked into the room and after the initial set of greetings the rapid fire JavaScript questioning began. I’m not sure how long it lasted, but they were clearly knowledgeable about various technical details and that kept me on my feet. Many of my answers were further scrutinized and I had to justify them further/with more detail. For the third round I had one senior developer and the lead of QA come in. They asked me about previous work experience and familiarity with the Agile process and various development best practices. The fourth round was with the hiring manager/VP of Software Development. It was another white boarding exercise for another one of my projects. And then a non-technical critical thinking problem that you’d more likely get in a consulting interview than in a tech one. It was actually very refreshing to experience that. Overall I really enjoyed the on-site interview even though it was a intense because I got the feel for the people I’d be working with and they all seemed very friendly and also very motivated to grow and learn new things. After the on-site is when things could use some improvement in my opinion. I felt like the communication was very poor and future steps were often unclear. The uncertainty almost pushed me to accept another offer, but LogicManager presented me with theirs and I ended up accepting it.
