I had a pretty negative experience overall. I had a call with a recruiter, then a call with a hiring manager, then a take home test, and then had to make a presentation to bring to my on site interview. Overall, I felt like my time was wasted. The calls took a half hour each. I spent 4 hours on my coding test. After they said they liked it, I spent another 4 hours preparing a presentation about the coding test. Then I had a 4 and a half hour on site interview. I feel like there could have been a point in all of this where they could see whether or not I was qualified for the position and offered it to me or declined. They ended up declining, but offered no feedback on what I could improve. This was a lot of time (~14 hours) on my part to be offered no job and no constructive feedback. This company is a shining example of what's wrong with the engineer hiring process.
