      Candidature

J'ai postulé en personne. Le processus a pris 3 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Lionbridge (Airoli) en janv. 2014

      Entretien

Applied for the position online, and a HR got in touch with me to take the application process forward. I was called for an interview to their Airoli office, Mumbai. The interview comprised of a 60-90 minute written test which included 1. Essay writing on one of the 3 given topics. 2. Basic grammar test. 3. An instructional writing exercise on a given scenario. After completion of the test, the HR took forward the exercise paper to their Project Director for evaluation. It took close to 10 minutes for them to assess the complete test. Next, I was asked to discuss the role with the same Project Director who assessed the test. Through further discussion it appeared they were not looking for a Full-time position but rather a contractual role that could meet their budgets!(Contrary to what I had applied for). After prolonged talks, the discussion continued to seem positive with their liking for my candidature, although the contractual/full-time matter continued to cling in thin air. After 3 days, the HR got back to inform of their decision to offer a Full-time position. Nothing on compensation was revealed yet. They said they would need a 3-4 days time to take forward the application process and confirm on how feasible it would be to get the position reverted to a Full time base. After further 10 days the HR calls back saying the process seems to be taking longer than anticipated and will be hastened in every possible way. (Until this day too, there had been no Written confirmation whatsoever of the offer.) On request to have some kind of written confirmation to attest their seriousness for my application, it was downright denied by the HR with words to keep patience with their process,(Completely unprofessional!) Surprisingly, for a brand like Lionbridge which is known for its policy driven functioning, absorbing an entry-level writer role should be no big task. But matters just seemed to complicate or rather disappear with time. It took them THREE full months of follow-ups with me for this position, with the entire recruitment activity resulting in no results. The offer was there on the table but the HR continued to play foul with the silly gimmicks that is rampant at Lionbridge! I was happy for things to have not worked my way in this offer, 'cause according to 80% employee testimonies, this firm is known to not walk the talk, then be it in terms of the salaries/hikes or be it the role. Word of Caution: No matter how big the brand name may seem, think twice before you get serious about applying to this company. They have some of the worse HR policies and some of the worst resource management personnel who hardly live up to their word.
