Recruiter reached out, did 6 rounds. Mostly over zoom, some phone. Coderpad for the coding round, miro for the systems design. The rest were talking.
The standout interview for me was the technical round. There was a very convoluted data iterating problem which was not very hard but there was a lot of extraneous information. The idea was to reduce the data and then do a summing / max / avg thing.
The interviewer said he'd like to see how I was thinking, but all he did was critique every word I put down. One of those guys who has to mention if you miss a bracket .3 seconds after you press a key. I had to ask him to give me some room to think the problem over. He could not stop talking while I was trying to reason the problem and was all in all fairly rude.
In another round I was asked to give my philosophy on Mentorship, but then the feedback given was that I did not give specific examples. The question was for ethos, not situations.
The Software Manager I interviewed with was great and had a great outlook and vision for the company.
When I asked about the job responsibilities, they were marketing it as a "senior software position" but as I got more into specifics, they are just looking for someone to revamp old Django code.
Over all an off-putting experience because the recruiter was so keen and made me feel like the company was interested, but after interviewing it feels like it's just an average dev shop with big time tech debt and serious culture issues. Recommend to avoid

Made it to the tech screen where a newly promoted SFE interviewed me. I think it’s important to note I am a woman and the person interviewing me was a man. The interviewer kept interrupting me when I was not struggling, telling me to do the (wrong) things, then gave me feedback that I was not following best practices. I completed the entire exercise in the time allotted and was given feedback that I “took too long to think of variable names” and they were passing. I would not want to work at a place with this kind of mentality.

Question 1
Same questions every company asks, like “what’s a closure?”

Very long unorganized and scattered interview process 7 rounds of interviews they all went very well because they dont ask LeetCode type code pairing questions and a lot of S.T.A.R formatted cliché behavioral questions.
But apparently they already knew they are not gonna hire me because sent an offer to another candidate.
Then they GHOSTED ME, after 7 rounds! I had to follow up a week later to find out about this.
Stay away from this company.
