As the interview process starts with the first contact to a company I will start there. Average time for Line to reply an Email: 1-2 weeks for standard email correspondence. There were plenty of times were communication with LINE felt off and low par, just a few examples: - they forgot to mention attachments to their emails, so you'd need to go ahead and check and open every file to see if its something you'd need to fill out - on notifying them about it - they just ignore it and don't even apologize - after passing the first interview (max 12h code review), I went ahead and sent them a list of questions I wanted to know about prior to the 2nd interview (general questions about work environment/ team structure/ decision making etc) - that email got ignored too, then, after another week they just asked me to make up some time during the week for the next 2h interview - I proposed several days, but they preferred the next week instead (why not just offer some time slots on their side then???) - so, without knowing what sort of interview its going to be I got thrown into it After a very short introduction with the interviewers (and not a single word about LINE or the team/ work there in general), the online code challenge started. First of all they forgot to put in the interview question and description about what exactly they wanted me to do. You got 25 mins per questions and I lost the first 5 mins as they struggled to fill in the blanks. The cryptic hints they provided were also more confusing then they were helpful. This lack of human to human communication was noticeable throughout the first hour. The second hour was reserved for a talk regarding application design. The interviewer clearly had more experience communicating with interviewees and could lead the interview so that I could ask questions to clarify specifications, expectations and scope of the problem.
