J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez Kraken en janv. 2025
Entretien
Kraken reached out to me via LinkedIn. Most interactions took around 4 days between me sending a message and them replying.
We had a fairly pleasant screening call and I was then asked to spend FIVE HOURS on a takehome task, which turned out to have incomplete information.
After completing the task I had to wait two weeks for a reply because the recruiter went on holiday in the middle of the process.
I was then told that I had failed the task because I had not included information that was not requested in the specification, and because I had not done something the specification told me not to do.
In general, this was the most disrespectful hiring process I've been through in over a decade.

Question 1
The screening interview was mostly bland run-of-the-mill questions and information about the company

Interview process takes weeks even more than a month. First of all you should complete hr questions step and coding challenge. After completing the challenge successfully you should attend a white board session. Scenario was not clear. According the briefing there is no specific solution for the given scenario but actually they expect some specific solution.

Lengthy 4-hour take-home, building a very simple app with Django/Python. Vague negative feedback, stiff & cranky interviewers. The project was easy, albeit lengthy, it makes me think they hired internally.

My interview experience at Kraken was pragmatic and efficient 4 steps process. Each stage was designed to be comfortable. This allows me to speak freely about my experience and motivations.
It began with an initial call with hiring team who clearly outlined the entire process, setting a positive tone from the start.
The 2nd was a work-from-home case study, which I was given time to prepare at my own pace (3-4hrs). After selection, I've presented my work.
This was an opportunity to showcase my understanding and have a nice talk with technical team.
The final stage was a chance to speak about my future role and see if it fits for all. A good step to talk about any subject related to this position : the company, team work, etc.
What I appreciated most was the pragmatic nature of the process. There were no long waits between steps, and I had a final decision within a month. Fortunately, it all led to an offer! I'm now incredibly eager to start at a company that seems like a fantastic place for passionate people.
