Entretien
1. Recruiter phone interview
2. Interview with the Director and then VP of FP&A
3. Interview with CFO and Lead Business Intelligence Analyst
3 out of 4 of the interviews were great. The interview with the CFO, not so great. The call with the CFO was set up for 45 minutes. He spent 15 minutes on the phone with me. He asked 2 questions. 1. Why did I wait years after high school, to complete my accounting degree. 2. Was the university a good school because he had never heard of it.
He then proceeded on with what little knowledge he had about the company and some of his background. He made mention that the Director and VP really liked me and said, 'so oh well'. Told me the recruiter would be in touch after my interview with Business Intelligence. In the middle of the interview, he turned his camera off. He ended the call without even asking me if I had questiions. I was very much taken back by that, because it's unusual.
Next, I was told that they would give me an answer by noon on Wednesday. I didn't hear from them until 2pm on Wednesday. They stated that since they didn't hear from me they assumed I accepted another position with a different company. I told them I had declined the other offer. They stated they had one more interiew to do and if I would wait until close of business for a decision. I agreed to it.
I received a call at 5:45 pm on Monday, letting me know they went with a different candidate.
So unprofessional. I believe they knew Wednesday they were not going to hire me, which is why they waited until after 12 on Wednesday to get back to me.

Interviews with the recruiter over the phone. Next 4 interviews were with the Director of Accounting. VP, FP&A, CFO and Lead Business Intelligence analyst. All interviews went really well with the exception of the CFO. He scheduled 45 minutes with me but only spent 15 on the phone telling me about himself. In the middle of the interview he turned off his camera. When he proceeded to end the video conference he didn’t ask me if I had any question. Just made a remark such as ‘well the others like you so oh well’
After being told I would know something by noon on Wednesday, they came back at 2pm and said ‘oh we thought you had another offer’. Then once they found out I didn’t accept it. They asked if I could wait until the following Monday for a response because they wanted to interview another candidate that they decided to go with.
Totally unprofessional. They showed me the type of company that they are. Basically played games and the total process was unprofessional. If you wanted to interview another candidate, why on earth would you agree to letting me know about an offer prior to you interviewing them? Not good for a start up company! Then they stated I didn’t get the job because the other candidate had more recent start up experience. That alone tells me it will not be long before their choice quits on them. It makes no difference how many years ago you helped start up a company. What matters is that you played a huge part in helping the company grow. From the reviews I read, I think it had something to do with my race. They do not have many blacks in management.
