A applied via website on June 15th, 2016.
On June 27th I received the first phone call explaining about the role.
On June 30th it was the technical screening by phone with a Kik's web developer, which took 20 minutes. I could explain my background and the many related work I had with what they do. After that it was applied two programming tests in a web shared document without the possibility to run it. So I would code while they test.
One test you can see in the "interview question", which I took less than 5 minutes. The other was a regexp problem which took me some more minutes because I didn't remember much about regexp.
Everyone I talked with were really nice and explained everything they could. However, many questions I had (about the company or the technology) they didn't know how to answer.
In general, I thought I went really well and was really confident I was going to be invited for at least an in-person interview. However I received an email on July 8th saying I was dismissed. They didn't give me any feedback, making it very disappointing, confusing and frustrating.

Applied online, received a response in about a week. I live locally so I was asked to come in for an in-person interview. It was 45 minutes long, briefly talked about history and current developments, then did the coding challenge. All in all, solid interview, nothing too crazy. I was offered the position 2 weeks later.

Question 1
Coding challenge was string manipulation, fairly easy.
