I was hired for during the year, which is when the supply of students drastically falls because not many of the are willing to miss 6 months of class. That said, the interviews were fairly easy and just tested your basic understanding of digital components (gates, flops, etc), and a very simple coding question. I had technical interviews with 3 engineers over the phone, although I know that they have you interview on-sight if you apply for the summer.
