I applied for the position in June. The talent acquisition manager replied a couple of weeks later and we scheduled a phone interview for early July. We specifically scheduled for 11:00 am CST on a Monday. We both live near the KeHE location in Naperville, located in suburban Chicago.
As I sat there at 11:15 am staring at my silent phone, I decided to give the talent acquisition manager a call to politely remind him that we had an interview scheduled. He immediately acted annoyed, as if I was the inconsiderate one bothering him! He acted as if the interview was scheduled for 12:00 pm. It clearly was not; I still have the meeting invitation. He then said something like “well, I guess we can talk now,” as if I was keeping him from something more important. He proceeded to be rude and failed to ask me anything relevant regarding my experience or the typical questions one would ask an instructional designer. However, he did promise to share my information with the learning and development team to see if they wanted to schedule me for an interview.
After a couple of weeks, I contacted him via email to ask if the L&D team wanted to meet. He failed to reply. I contacted him again about two weeks later. Again, crickets.
I spent several days researching KeHE in preparation for the interview only to get stuck with a recruiter with a bad attitude who acted as if his incompetence to schedule an interview time and then show up at the scheduled time was my fault.
Again, not only were we in the same time zone, we were probably no more than 20 miles apart at the time of the scheduled interview.
