The interview process was very confusing & unfortunately extremely unorganized. Had an initial phone screen June 7th 2019, that went great. The recruiter ended our call early due to work related reasons but apologized and said she wanted to connect back with me on June 12th 2019, so that I had the chance to ask any possible follow up questions for her. She also mentioned wanting to bring me in as well for an in person. June 12th came and passed and I didn’t hear from her. I also sent a couple of follow ups as well with no word back. Finally on June 17th, I heard back from the recruiter apologizing for the delay due to work related traveling and that they have also decided to pause this requisition. However, on June 21st I then get a generic decline email letting me know that they moved forward with another candidate. Definitely understand if they wanted to go with someone that was a better fit, that’s no issue at all. The thing that’s disappointing here is that one of the points I had connected with the recruiter on in the initial phone screen was how candidate experience is so crucial and she strongly agreed. Candidate experience is something I truly value in my current role (as I’m currently in recruiting as well), so it was extremely disappointing that a company I was excited to connect with had such poor candidate experience and overall communication.
