      Candidature

J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. J'ai passé un entretien chez Jobr en juill. 2017

      Entretien

I had a 30 minute phone screen with a Principal Software Engineer, which I ended in 15 minutes because it took an unprofessional turn. The interviewer had very few questions for me, and didn't seem very interested in following up, or asking questions about anything I said. After I asked a few clarifying questions about the role and team that indicated to me that the position was not a right fit, I respectfully let him know. He replied that he only interviewed me because I was recommended by a co-worker, but that he personally felt my experience level was too low. He said that ideally he would interview a candidate that had "been around the block with a few years more experience" than me. After feeling fairly patronized and disrespected, I ended the interview and thanked him for his time. I didn't know if he was having a bad day or what, but after hearing he did't really want to interview me in the first place, I understood why the whole conversation felt so forced, and realized that I wasn't really given a fair shot at the interview. Furthermore, it strikes me as ironic that a company whose product is designed to help people with the hiring process, has such an unprofessional person conducting and limiting their own hiring processes.
