J'ai passé un entretien chez Jane Street (New York, NY)
Entretien
The interview was fair, had 4 phone rounds followed by an on-site. The on-site was quite fun, but unfortunately I messed up big time in one round. I was overconfident in my estimation (which turned out to not be correct, but this was not the problem) and as a consequence lost a big deal of the capital I had assigned for the game.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Standard dice questions in the phone interview, probability and stats-based games in the final round
online assessment and video call interview, asking probability and expected value type questions. pretty straightforward. The questions are quite difficult but interviewer is very kind and happy to work through questions with you

Imagine you have a 9-sided die, you get points corresponding to the face of the die after rolling, however, rolling a 9 ends the game and gives score of 0. what is your expected value of the game, how would you play?
J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Jane Street (Londres, Angleterre) en janv. 2026
Entretien
I did an interview in January. The interviewer was very nice and asked some probability questions. I answered the questions correctly but stumbled a bit. I didn't get a follow up interview.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
The interview question was a probability problem, asking if 100 people are in the line and another line opens up, what should be my strategy. The follow up question was whether the answer was realistic and what would differ in the real world (and not assuing everyone makes decisions based on probability).
