There are several hoops to go through before you complete your interview process with Internet Brands. I applied online and had a phone screening with a recruiter. Then, I will have to complete a case study related to the position to have an idea of what to expect if you ever get hired. The corporate recruiter will then scheduled an interview with you. You may talk with the recruiters for a brief moment before they email the managers for the actual interviews. There was an interview with the manager and supervisor together. And another interview with the director of the operations. The entire interview process, including waiting in the conference room, is approximately 2 hours. So expect to devote a lot of your time doing these interviews. The interviewers tend to ask many generic interview questions and some scenario questions.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

What is your strengths? What is your weaknesses? How do you deal with a team member in your group? What is your commute? What do you do in your free time? What makes you stand out over other applicants?

Internet Brands (IB) screen's their candidates first, a phone interview followed by a case study, then an in-person interview at the HQ formerly known as cars direct. Case study determines your skills and whether or not if you get the in-person interview. Before the interview date, you will be sent an employment application via e-mail that needs to be completed. Phone interview last about 15-20 minutes, while the in-person interview took about two hours. The in-person interview process is as followed: first, seen by a corporate recruiter, then, interviewed by two others who were once in this position (lead operations and manager), then the director. Upon completion with the long in-person interview process, you will be waiting once again for a long time until seen by the recruiter just to walk you out and get parking validated. The work culture is very relaxed, which employees are in jeans and a t-shirt. I was told, when I asked about the work culture, that many people work on their own schedule to accommodate IB's budget, which explains why the office flow isn't quite as busy and it is not your typical suit and tie corporation. Office overlooks LAX runway and not generally in a good neighbourhood, w/ the exception of an ocean view seen from the 11th floor. People seem generally nice but can be timid and quite shallow (based off interactions, observations, and what was told when I asked how are the people like working at IB). Lots of young individuals who are starting his/her careers and techs. Based on my observation and what was asked, if you are looking to move up quickly, IB doesn't seem to have/provide much growth opportunities available. Pay is not so great also. You are told an expected salary through the recruiter, but at the in-person interview, instead you are offered a far less compensation. Expect to be paid 50% below average compared w/ someone in this title. Nonetheless, if you are only seeking for work experience to put onto your resume, and is going to resign after a year (high turnover); need be, this is a good place to start in the online media industry. In all, the hiring and interviewing process is quick from initial contact/application to the interview and follow up (about a week) but it can take some time, so make sure to clear out your schedule for the day or at least a few hours in advance if told to come in.

      Questions d'entretien [3]

      Question 1

Are you familiar with IB and why IB? How strong are your customer service skills? Your job consist majority of your time making and taking calls, are you okay with that? How do you deal with upset customers? Tell me a time when you had to deal with someone in a team? How do you feel with work left undone? How do you make do w/ limited resources... in other words, resources are limited, are you okay with that and how can you overcome this obstacle? Tell me your weakness? What is your strength? Can you work the hours from M-F 8am - 4pm? How do you feel about travel, your commute and how far? Why do you want this job? What do you like to do for fun?
