Before any contact with the company, I was asked to answer a questionnaire consisting of three short essay-type questions. After their review and approval of my answers, I had a telephone interview with the Director of the department. The conversation was light and consisted of basic background questions.
They invited me to an in-person interview, to meet with three employees. The first is the senior recruiter, who asked basic administrative questions, such as reason for leaving current position, salary requirements and past work experiences, as well as reviewing an employment application I was asked to complete. The second interview was with the Director I had spoke to during my telephone interview. He asked more detailed and technical questions about my background as it pertains to the job opportunity. He also asked some behavioral questions and a case study question. The third is with another project manager. He asked questions about technologies and methodologies I've used.
All in all, it was not a difficult interview, but it wasn't an easy interview either. They were looking for a very specific candidate, and their questions were geared towards zoning in on that person. The demeanor of the people I interacted with were all very serious and stoic. Perhaps it was because I came in on a Monday morning? The most pleasant interaction I had with an employee was with the front-desk receptionist. Everybody else seemed very dour and disengaged.

Because the department has grown mostly through acquisitions of various websites, most of the projects are to integrate those sites with ours. Suppose there is a newly acquired site which is completely custom and this project has high visibility. How would you go about managing this project?
Usually the most successful people in this department are into the latest technologies and methodologies. What do you do to stay up-to-date with current and future technologies?

They had reached out via LinkedIn. I spoke to a recruiter over phone twice and had a pretty basic screening call. Then I was set up to meet the project manager lead.
