I didn't reach out first - I was contacted - because I was only "sort of looking". The job sounded perfect (and ended up being perfect!) although the recruiter (she is on staff at the company) was a bit all over the place (but likable enough). The actual interviewers were great at explaining what the company mission is, what they do, their own role, etc.
