Had the first round of interview with the HRBP. Lots of boiler plate questions (you know what I am talking about) from the HR lady who did not share much about the job nor the R&D projects; a shame because it looked interesting at first glance. Things turned ackward when I asked her what the company cash runway was (a typical question in the the biotech industry) and she got flustered and was unable/unwilling to answer. I was not too impressed and never heard back (despite being referred and clearly meeting qualifications). Then again I probably dodged a bullet because the company had trouble hiring/retaining for that position and they are not doing so well today
