The recruiter reached out to setup a phone interview. After a few conversation, an interview time was set. On the day of the interview, a couple of hours before it started, the recruiter sent an email that it's cancelled because the "Hiring is paused". Turned out the hiring was never paused because the job was still open. If I am not the right candidate, at least have the honesty and respect to say so. I have to move around my schedules to accommodate this interview and is disrespectful to receive a cancellation with bogus reason. Internal Audit is one of the department that requires the utmost integrity, respect and ethics. But seeing the above, I am glad I didn't go through with the interview.
