They showed me around their small facility explaining their products. Shortly after they put me in a room with 3 individuals and asked me logic and math teasers. After that they stuck me in front of a room of around 8 people who drilled me with a range of questions. I was very put off by the questions being asked such as, "based on this time lapse image, calculate the surface tension of this ink droplet". I couldn't believe that I had applied for a SOFTWARE ENGINEER position and this was the type of stuff they were asking. I asked a lot about the software they build and they were proud of their own proprietary coding language built only for Apple computers. As a young software engineer, this kind of environment seemed like a career limiting position. After that I had lunch with the ENTIRE company (maybe 12-15 people?). The owner then pulled me into his office to ask how it went and what I'd be expecting for a salary. He seemed a little put off by my answer of 90K (this is relatively market price for an engineer with 5 years experience).
