I applied online and got a first interview email after a few weeks saying they wanted to have a casual chat with me. I went to their office with my laptop and presented projects I have done. After two weeks I received a short feedback saying that I am not the right fit and they went with other candidates. To be honest, this was the worst interview experience I have ever had. Firstly the interview journey was not clear at all: it should clarify what you expect from candidates during every interview step for example project presentation. Do not use ‘causal chat’ just because it sounds nicer. In the end you don’t really expect it to be casual either. Secondly one of the interviewers was very arrogant and yawned all the time when I presented my projects. I can immediately tell that they were not so interested in me and it also seems the positions are underpaid here. Anyway, if you can’t even take care of the interview experience how clients can trust you to give a good user experience design to their products.
