The interview process moved pretty quickly. The recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn, and after an initial phone screen, they move you to a thirty-minute interview with the manager. The trouble comes in the third round, which is a writing assignment. It was the lengthiest assignment I've ever had, coming in at five pages once I was finished. That's a lot of free work to ask of candidates, and they sent over an automated rejection only after I asked to confirm whether they'd received it several days later. A note to the hiring teams: this is both impersonal and disrespectful of your candidate's time at this point in the process, especially if you're asking them to spend several hours doing free work for you. Do better!
