quick - phone screen followed by in-person interview. Very informal discussion-like process. The owner revealed some really questionable views about education, teachers, poverty, and families. He seems to blame poor student achievement on family structures, and blames families themselves for being poor. He seems to have no conception of the socieconomic causes or systemic factors that lead to poverty. He revealed a belief that TEACHERS ARE LAZY and don't work hard and take too much time off work, showing a fundamental disconnect from the industry he claims to serve. This is profoundly worrying for someone who is in the business of education, but not surprising given the other HLC employee reviews on here.
