One-on-one debriefing by canvassing manager as to the nature of the job was followed by him asking me questions about my educational background and intentions on applying for a somewhat unusual position compared to office work or technical installation. After we had covered my personal details and the particulars of the job, we sat down with the canvassing script and I was walked through the steps of introduction, pitching, and closing a deal. When it became clear I was capable of what they wanted, I was given the offer of employment pretty much on the spot, pending a background check.
