After clearing initial rounds, the interview with the Hiring Manager was a major letdown. Her tone was quite condescending and dismissive. Instead of diving into the technical architecture or the "how-to" of my past projects, she spent the entire time questioning my personal contribution, repeatedly asking if the work was actually mine or done by others. It felt like a cross-examination rather than a technical discussion. There seemed to be an innate distrust against candidates from my specific background. It was very demotivating to have my 5+ years of experience treated with such suspicion from the start itself. Now I understand why this role has remained open for so long.
