      Entretien

I interviewed for an Editorial Coordinator/Bi-lingual Spanish position at Herbalife's Torrance office. The girl who interviewed me was hard to read and seemed a little uptight. She asked me to take a writing and Spanish translation test. I was surprised that she sat next to me the whole time instead of leaving me alone in the room to concentrate. It was awkward and uncomfortable. She stared at me while I was writing and it was hard to focus with that kind of pressure. I did my best, but it was weird and I had never been subjected to that before during an interview. Most employers who make you take a writing or software skills test at least leave the room and give you a half hour alone to take the test. Here, I was expected to finish in 10-15 minutes with someone watching me like a hawk. I did my best, but needless to say, I did not receive an offer. Two weeks later, a different recruiter sent me for an interview at Herbalife's other office at L.A. Live, Downtown next to Staples Center, for another position-- Social Media Coordinator. I showed up for the interview (which was with a different person) and after waiting a half hour to be called in, the receptionist told me that there was a misunderstanding and that the interviewer had a meeting and would not be available that day. She told me to reschedule with my recruiter for another day. At least she validated my parking. Anyhow, my recruiter told me that Herbalife changed their mind and this position was either changing into a different role or no longer available. So Herbalife basically blew off my interview! During my job search, I realized that Herbalife posts the same positions with different titles on every Job board and uses practically every recruiter/agency in the Los Angeles area. The whole experience was sketchy, to say the least.
