Hi! I am sorry you had a negative experience. I can address a few of your concerns here.
1. The CEO and CTO actually do not have those titles - they are Master Sensei and Chief Ninja. We are trying to establish a fun and down to earth atmosphere that is separate from the Wall Street title driven one.
2. We do in fact have team leads and managers, I am sorry if the company titles gave you the wrong impression. We will make sure this is more clear. By flat structure we are implying that is is very easy to progress in the company - e.g. someone 2 years out of school that is outstanding doesn't need to do a normal "analyst to associate" progression, they might be made the head of the department. We view this as being flat, but perhaps our use of wording is faulty here.
