J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Hearst en avr. 2021
Entretien
This review is for the Hearst Autos team. I went through a recruiter phone call, then a call with the hiring manager, then a take-home assignment, then a final 4 interview round. At the end of the final round, I was told that I would hear back with feedback within the next day/beginning of the next week. I never heard back from the team again despite following up twice. I understand if in the end I wasn't a good fit for the role, but it's rude and unprofessional to not send even a generic rejection email. I spent so much time on the interview process not only talking to different members of the team, but also hours and hours of prep for the take-home and technical rounds. Additionally, there was no help on the recruiter end in terms of how to prepare. I was told by the hiring manager that the team looks for general coding competency and not necessarily specific language fluency, but I was quizzed on HTML, CSS, and NodeJS specifics. Overall a rude and abrasive process.

Initial interview went great. Everything aligned with everything I've been doing. The second interview I thought went great as well. It was on zoom with a casual conversation about my skills and their plans in the pipeline. I didn't hear back for about 2 weeks and did a follow up email. Got rejected, felt bummed out.

J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Hearst en déc. 2022

I had my first interview with the recruiter. She seemed very nice and was responsive at first. The second round was completing a timed test on tech. It was a test because they were multiple choice questions that you had to complete. These were tricky but doable. The last part of the coding test was taking code already written and updating the code to fix tests. Do yourself a favor and complete it in your IDE. The testing tool is horrible and doesn't always work. I emailed the recruiter letting her know that I completed the exercise. This was on December 7th. I never heard back. No rejection - nothing. I was an employee referral and that is how they treat people who are referred to them. If this is how they treat people, image working for them. They will have no respect for you or your time! Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time with this company. I emailed the team and my referral telling them how unprofessional this was and that I would be taking my name out of the applicant pool. I rejected them!
