      Entretien pour Director Competitive Intelligence

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Hearsay Systems (San Francisco, CA) en juill. 2018

      Entretien

After I had sent in my CV on online with respect to this Director, Competitive Intelligence role, I was contacted by a recruiter to set-up an initial discussion over the telephone. The recruiter was at least 15 minutes late in calling me and she did not apologize for doing so, which looked pretty bad in my view given that most of us take time out of our work to speak. In any event, our discussion was at a very high-level but I got the impression that the recruiter herself was not fully cognizant of Hearsay's business domains and as to what exactly the role (I was interviewing for) would entail. Regardless, we talked about my past industry experiences and how I would foresee me potentially fitting into the aforementioned role. I did ask a few questions but the recruiter danced around my questions (i.e. not offering a clear straight-forward response). I did not hear any feedback, which itself is discourteous and downright unprofessional. Fortunately, I am in the process of accepting a fantastic offer with a large software company in a Director of Business Strategy role and I will be very leery of partaking in business ventures with Hearsay Systems given my experiences in the recruitment stage. And as many others here on Glassdoor have correctly pointed out: the feedback coming from a recruiter (or anyone else) is lacking and not frequent. Going silent after interviews is not only discourteous and downright unprofessional, but this will also deter good candidates from joining Hearsay Systems (think about this -- if this is how one gets treated BEFORE hire, just imagine how they would treat someone AFTER they are hired!). Ghosting candidates is not cool and going silent damages the reputation of a company (keep in mind that today`s candidates are tomorrow`s leaders!). Other than that, Hearsay has its share of challenges, but I also get the impression that this company (given that it has changed its business model and name numerous times) does not seem to have a definitive idea as to how they'd grow their business. Interview at Hearsay Systems at your peril and by doing your own due diligence beforehand. Good luck!
