In person sales pitch to our graduating class, complete with powerpoint and chapsticks. I applied for an ICU position; followed by a questionnaire inquiring about my age (above 40 or below). This was a pivotal point. No one could answer why they would ask such a question. I'm borderline either way, but what difference does that make. Insurance costs? Moldability? IDK nor did the recruiter. I was set up for an ICU interview with a recruiter and then the day before (after hiring childcare) heard the interview was for a med/surg unit. This information I had to dig for and she was still pushing for me to make the interview. I'm sure she gets commission or has a quota of people to interview and move through the hiring process. This place is the one for-profit hospital in the area, which is known for turning un-insured patients away before this became illegal.
