Did a phone screen and waited to hear about an on-site interview. Received no information from my contact. Luckily a friend who worked there saw my name on their calendar, reached out to me, to my surprise to tell me I had an on-site interview. Somehow the email never reached me or was never sent. Strike one.
Interviewed and got a good vibe from the staff and everyone I talked to. I asked for a fair annual salary and was told by the CEO that what I asked for was reasonable and feasible.
When I finally received the offer it was well below what I asked for by maybe 30%. I responded asking why this discrepancy was so large. The answer I got was that I to reach the salary I asked for I would be expected to work an extra 10-15 hours per week at a lower hourly rate.
Really silly way to bait and switch a candidate. Just be up front about the salary ranges. This was a waste of my time.
