Online application which can lead to a pre-recorded video interview. If approved you will complete an in-person interview which takes place at the store of interest. Had to defer my orientation and offer because of unexpected severe sickness. This communication was clear and understood between me and the hiring manager. HEB hiring staff did not communicate with themselves or me clearly and called me to say I missed my first day. After my deferral was already established.
The interview process is unique and done in a few parts. There is a group interview where you interact with other applicants. They also ask you one on one questions in a more traditional interview setting.

What would you do if a customer wanted to speak to a manager?
Basic questions . Just trying to see if you fit I. With them. Pretty easy. Not too hard if you can answer . It was that and a lot of situations and scenarios that they asked about
It was an online format. Personal video recording responding to basic interview prompts. There was also a small competency examination to test for basic math and reading skills as well as some personality questions.
