The first interview was over the phone. I was asked very standard questions as well as giving some information about my experience. The second interview was a group interview 14-16 people. The arranged us into groups and has a do a variety of activities. There was a panel of managers, 9 or 10 of them, and every single one was male. EVERY SINGLE ONE. My "store walk" consisted of being lectured by an elderly gentleman (who asked me lots of personal question- totally unethical and illegal) about why this job wouldn't be a good fit for me, as a mother. No surprise that I wasn't chosen to continue through to the next round...

Entretien
The phone interview felt very impersonal. No rapport building on the part of the recruiter. Most of the questions are leadership-related. I was surprised so many leadership behavioral questions were asked in a first interview/phone screen with a recruiter.

Was giving a list of questions to prepare answers for. I had to prerecord answers to turn in. It was not fun. I could not get a feel for the culture that way.

I received an email from an HEB recruiter after applying on their company website for the School of Retail Leadership to set up a phone interview. The interview was set two weeks from then and I was told would last 30-45 minutes.
The time came for the interview and she called right on time. She asked basic interview questions. It lasted just over 20 minutes long. About three weeks later I was called and told I was not selected for the position.
