The interview itself was totally fine! A good experience even. Everyone who interviewed me was incredibly kind and friendly and helped me feel comfortable throughout the process. HOWEVER, the in house recruiter they used to coordinate all the interviews was atrocious. She was unorganized, unprofessional, unresponsive and above all else, rude. She cancelled our initial screening call just one hour prior to our call and when I told her that I couldn't make the rescheduled time, but instead put forth an option that would work, she never responded and it took me following up for her to reach back out to me. After my initial interview with the managers at guaranteed rate, she told me there'd be two more interviews, but instead there was only one. This lead me to have a few more logistical unanswered questions when the offer came through. Because of this, those questions had to go to her rather than those facilitating the interview. She acted completely bothered by my questions. Never answered most of them and continued to pressure me to give her an answer in less than 24 hours. When I ultimately declined the offer, she essentially hung up the phone on me as I was midway through thanking her for her time and the interview experience at Guaranteed Rate. If I had any doubts about accepting the offer, this sealed the deal.

I applied through their site and got an email to schedule for a phone interview a week after which was scheduled immediately for the next day. When I haven't received a call at the agreed time, I decided to shoot an email to recruiter if the call will still push through or are we going to reschedule. She replied immediately and apologized for running late but asks what my salary expectation is before we proceed with the call. I told her what my expected salary would be based on the position I was applying for (which was relatively low already from corporate standards). Never received a response through email or a call after that. I feel it is very unprofessional for a big company to do that. You should value the time of people by reaching out to them if you're running late or if you're not interested anymore. With that, even if I didn't get to push through with a call, I would not even dare work for a company that has terrible work ethics.

My phone interviewer was late to our scheduled phone call and rambled for over an hour on tangents about the company, asking me minimal questions and poorly answering my questions about the position. While I thought that maybe they had a bad day (it was a late Friday afternoon), I gave them the benefit of the doubt and accepted to meet them in an in-person interview following week. As a soon-to-be grad looking to relocate to the city post-graduation, they knew I was traveling from campus two and a half hours away from their office. On the day of the interview, they canceled an hour before our scheduled time due to an emergency — I had already been on the road for quite some time and was pretty much in the city at that point. I agreed to meet with them the following day knowing that emergencies DO happen, and didn't want to waste any more time driving back and forth. Not to mention, I took a chance on this company during the busy ending to my final semester of college. The following day, there was no apology from the interviewer about the time inconvenience from the emergency. Again, I tried to make the best of it — as the actual interview (finally) began, I was eager to discuss my qualifications and learn more about the position. Yet instead, I was critiqued on my personal appearance. I was asked "why I was so dressed up" (I was wearing a skirt and a blouse) and was told multiple times that I "looked like I was twelve" and would have to do something about my appearance to "look older" and be taken seriously at this company. After concluding the interview and wasting two days of my time, I withdrew my application for consideration. Guaranteed Rate was rude, unprofessional, and overall a shining example of a company that I did NOT want to associate myself with.
