First there was a phone screen, and then the same wiki api take home assignment others have mentioned. I worked on it for about four hours, and then two days after submitting it got a very generic rejection email: "Thank you for applying to the Senior Software Engineer role at Grow Therapy. We appreciate your interest in Grow and for taking the time to complete a take home assignment. We received a high number of applications, and unfortunately, we will not be moving forward with your application. Due to the high number of applications and per advice from our legal team, we are not able to provide individual feedback at this time." It was an incredibly frustrating experience to devote time to a take home and essentially hear "we didn't have time to look at yours." IMO they should not be asking candidates to complete take homes assignments unless they have the capacity and bandwidth to actually look at each one and provide at least cursory feedback.

The interviewers were great! Very friendly, and the interviews felt adequately challenging, not too hard or too easy. What made the process awful was the recruiter communication. I've been on an email thread with two recruiters and yet I still haven't gotten a response after doing 4 interviews. After I completed the first interview it took them 2 weeks to respond to me.
