I applied for the Product Training Specialist position online and heard back quickly from the Recruiter. We scheduled a phone interview for the next week that was meant to be 20-30 minutes, but lasted 7 minutes -- The Recruiter seemed to be in a rush, and only got on the phone as a formality.
Received an email later that day to set-up a video interview with the Hiring Manager. Due to some scheduling issues on my end, this took a while to schedule. The Recruiter eventually scheduled the video interview for a Holiday (and the Hiring Manager didn't show). Rescheduling after that took another few weeks, which was attributed to "changes in their Talent Acquisition software."
Fast-forward to the video interview with the Hiring Manager. The first half of the interview was pretty scripted, but they asked some quality questions about my experience and interest in Granicus. They allowed some time for me to ask questions, talk more openly about the product, and set clear expectations for the next steps -- Overall, this was the best part of the interview process.
I was told that the Recruiter would follow-up with me by the end of the week. Radio silence on Friday. Radio silence the whole next week. Sent an email (to both the HM and Recruiter) asking for an application update the following week, radio silence. Followed up with another email the following week and received the automated rejection email within a few minutes.
I don't understand why candidates continue to get ghosted, but please use this (and the 63%+ of other negative candidate/interview experiences) as a wake-up call for your Talent Acquisition Operations team and stop wasting candidates' time. Thank you!

Question 1
Tell me about something that isn't on your resume?
First, you have a phone interview with their recruiters. Then once you pass that phase you have to take a self-assessment, which is horrible. The self-assessment has nothing to do with your ability to successfully do the job. It reminds me when high profile startups say they want "top tier college candidates."

Question 1
Pretty basic questions from the recruiter on the phone. The self-assessment questions are pointless questions that literally have nothing to do with how successful you'd be at the role. However, it's clear if you don't score a certain score on these self-assessments they will not move forward with you.
