I interviewed at Gopuff and went through a multi stage process that included a recruiter screen, two interviews (including a task presentation), and a final interview with someone from senior leadership team. I was very enthusiastic about the opportunity and invested significant time and effort, including building a full CRM onboarding lifecycle strategy with visuals, comms mockups, testing plans, and more. The task was essentially a full CRM strategy deck. While the earlier stages were positive and the hiring manager was engaged and supportive, the final interview was very disappointing. The Senior member of the team displayed an arrogant tone from the beginning and, when asked what made him proud of the CRM team, responded by criticising a former employee and unnecessarily stating “she was a woman”. This comment felt completely out of place, inappropriate, and highly unprofessional. After completing the process, and investing in what was essentially unpaid consulting, I received a generic rejection email (only after I followed up) with no feedback. When I responded to that asking for a specific feedback where did I fell short, I received a vague explanation that “other candidates were more aligned,” which felt unreasonable given that the role was reposted everywhere shortly after. It’s also worth noting that no specific feedback was ever provided, despite the level of detail and energy I put into the process. I also received a personal message from the hiring manager, who said he had wanted to hire me and was disappointed by the decision, which he confirmed was not in his hands. While I appreciated the gesture, it only reinforced that decisions are made by leadership in a way that does not reflect collaboration, fairness, or alignment with the values Gopuff claims to promote. Please be aware that while the early stages may feel promising, the decision making power appears to lie with leadership that lacks transparency and professionalism. If you’re a woman or someone from an underrepresented group, pay close attention to the dynamics in later stages. Advice to Gopuff: If you claim to value diversity and inclusion, ensure your leaders are trained to speak with respect. Do not ask candidates to invest hours of their time without offering meaningful, personalised feedback. You’re asking for high standards from candidates, we expect the same from you.

First stage was with recruiter, after a few days it was with the hiring manager and the third with was with the hiring manager and their manager. It was an extensive and quite difficult task, you also needed to send it a day before and you had to present it back
