phone interview was first hand with HR and the hiring director and sub section director of engineering. Each was a different phone call and the HR contact then called and set up the flight to fly in to chicago. I dressed formally for the interview to the nines and then upon arrival was told by the first interviewer that to dress formally was a mistake as everyone was in jeans and polos shirts and the organization had the feel of a start up with a silicon valley flair to it and open floor plan for cubicles.
I interviewed with 4 people and was then taken out for lunch with the pro posed team mates whom I would work with in my role. It was a frozen lunch as none of the team mates dared to say a word or ask me questions in front of the director whom lead the lunch interview time gap.
I found out the staff and seniors where out of motorola and northrup grumman and rockwell and the mid level about the same. Everyone was posturing in a strange way always reinforcing their position and found my years of experiences and licenses as a threat to their role in the company as a reaction from them to me explaining my background.
The director offered the job to me and I accepted and followed up with a formal letters and emails and thank you cards and told him of my intentions .
The director told me i was the best thing since sliced bread to bring up his organization standards and enrich his team at gogo.
Two weeks Passed and had to call them up because of no communication or follow up from the emails or formal letters and was then told I don't fit the role.
In short if you want to waste your time be lied to your face and get your hopes up from the interview then this is the place to go for that type of interview.
The interview structure was too mis manged and jumbled time frames and it was a joke and hurried ness of it foiled the purpose to bring someone onboard.
OVERALL; RUN AWAY THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY WANT IN A CANDIDATE, even though you have the education, industry experience, and professional licenses.
People are FEAR POSTURING their roles in the interviews to the candidate so why are they fearful it must be the mangement structure.
