I went through a 6-round interview process for the Enterprise Account Executive role.
The early and middle rounds went very well. I was told multiple times that I was their final candidate and that an offer was being prepared. The CEO even ended our final interview by saying he looked forward to meeting me in person.
After that, I heard nothing for over a week despite multiple follow-ups to the recruiter and sales leadership. I eventually received a very late rejection with feedback that I was too prepared in the final interviews.
The lack of basic communication and respect after raising expectations this high was very disappointing. Taking candidates through that many rounds and then going silent is unprofessional and damages the company’s reputation.
While the team and product appear solid from the outside, this experience raised serious questions about internal alignment and candidate respect. If this is how they treat final candidates, it makes me wonder about the internal culture.
Advice to the company: Streamline your hiring process and close the loop with candidates in a timely manner, even when it’s a “no” to your final candidate.
