J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Gap (New York, NY) en oct. 2012
Entretien
Like many I filled out their application online at The Gap website. I filled it out in the morning (early morning around 2) and received a phone call that very same day around 1 in the afternoon. I was told to come in for an interview that same week. No details about the interview process, I did my research and realized that a lot of people had interviews that consisted of group interviews and very few had one-on-one interviews.
I did all the research I could on The Gap (learning the background of the company is a good thing to do) and prepared best I could. Lucky for me, the interview was a one-on-one. The GM who interviewed me was very laid back and asked very simple questions like: where do you like to shop, what's the first thing you notice when you walk in to those stores, etc. He then walked me around the store and asked me to describe each section and what kind of person would wear such an outfit. He then told me to pick out an outfit for a female and male and when I was ready to present them to let him know. I picked my outfits and presented them and he asked "what made you choose these" I explained best I could and what kind of person would wear it and to where they would wear it.
Once that was over we went back to the office and he explained a bit about the job and told me the pay, the shifts and asked about my availability. He had other candidates to interview and said he would call or email the people he interviewed the following week and let them know if they will be moving forward or not.
Two days later I received a call saying I was hired! I went to orientation which is very detailed about the company and gets you excited about working there! I start training this week!
Like many say be yourself! Dress for the part (the Gap is very casual, preppy, upscale) so show that you do know about the company not just with background info but your style as well. Stand out. Smile and be confident. Many say to be bubbly, I must admit I don't think I was so bubbly but I smiled, I was myself and was confident and showed that I knew The Gap. Be Bold! The Gap is huge on customer service!

It was a group interview of about 10-12 people. If I remember correctly they take you to the back, the stock room, and ask almost everyone the same question. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
It was very easy, one in person interview with the general manager and then I was accepted! Mainly personality and behavioral questions were asked, and I think enthusiasm on my end helped the most.
