J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez Gainsight (Redwood City, CA)
Entretien
The interview process consisted of 2 phone interviews followed by 4 hours of in person interviews with various members of the sales teams from client services to solutions. It was capped off with a very odd manufacture your own discovery + presentation.
The phone interviews were very well received. In-person I was subjected to a range of folks who were very rushed and unprepared in the direction of the interview questions. I'm sure they are nice people but worst of all most of them came off very stand-offish except for one. I can't imagine working without laughter - life is too short. Maybe it was the interview process but no doubt they have smart, dry, and stoic folks working there.
Here is a tip on the presentation format which I bombed (not in presentation style mind you) but in content. They like to play this "creativity" game in assessment but don't fooled what they really want is a standard feature function presentation. What you should do is pick a relatively easy SaaS company in growth mode and then frame up the presentation slides as a Customer Success Platform toolset purposed built for whatever problems you manufactured in the discovery. A recommendation of slides is as follows :
1) Nascar Slide deck of Gainsight - purpose of this slide is this isn't Gainsight's first rodeo and we have solved the same problems you are having with other folks
2) Customer case study - Purpose of this is a proof is to re-enforce slide 1
3) Over of Gainsight Tool - Get right into the toolset and tie the features to the pain
-----Customer 360 Health Dashboard
-----Proactive Communications
-----CSM workflows
4) Close them on next step
I hope this helps any sales dude or dudette interviewing. I might have just had a weird experience with them but I'm sure they are good folks they just have a silly interview process which honestly sucks at picking talent. Probably best I didn't get hired though because I wouldn't want to make all the sales folks look bad when I outsell everyone :)

Smooth and efficient. Got a really good feel for the company and the culture etc. The aptitude test was also fun . This must be 30 words by now. Apparently not

I was approached by a recruiter for a sales position at Gainsight. I went through a phone interview and then was called onsite for an interview. It was by far one of the worst interviews I have ever been to. The hiring manager met with me for less than 5 minutes and told me he has just fired everyone on the team and now has 2 people left on the team. He was nowhere to be found after my brief meeting. I met with the CEO and VP of Client Success. They asked me generic questions about experience/background. I really didn't get a good sense of the role or the direction of the company.

Nothing unexpected. Why do you want to work here? What is your background etc.
