J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. J'ai passé un entretien chez GLG (New York, NY)
Entretien
I spoke to a guy who had me on speaker phone. He asked me right off the bat if I had reached out to his boss. I had via LinkedIn and he wasn't too happy about it.
He was walking around so his voice was fading in and out. I asked him if he could take me off speaker but he didn't. He said "cool" to a few of my answers. He didn't give me much time and was extremely young in his approach.
I have ZERO interest in this company now. What a turn off!

Question 1
There were no difficult questions asked by this guy. In fact, he needs a bit more training.

A phone interview is a VERY POOR way for a potential hire to express themselves and to convey who they really are. This is not the right way to gain a first impression. My colleague and I were both very disappointed when we both got turned away from this company after phone interviews, which was very strange given that we are both very well spoken, well versed, experienced students, and expressed a strong passion for the company. Experienced as in we have track records in investing and both helped a startup develop into a ~$5M valuation. The recruiting managers seem to neglect value and innovation and that is a shame.
