I applied a couple days before and got a reply a couple days later. It was really nice. I was sent a bunch of questions to answer. I basically answered them and got a reply the same day.

Unfortunately, it appears as though you were a victim of an online scam. If you were to be contacted by a Gannett Fleming Corporate Recruiter, you would have spoken with someone over the phone or via MS Teams for an interview. Our process does not include requesting the completion of lengthy questionnaires. This type of fraud is normally committed through online services, such as fraudulent websites or in this particular instance, fabricated job postings. Communication with victims is often via emails, text messages or instant messaging apps. We regret that you were subjected to such deception and fraud. We do our very best to act when these types of experiences are brought to our attention. However it is very difficult to track down those bad characters responsible for the fraud. Gannett Fleming does not extend offers of employment without conducting in-person or virtual interviews and does not require sensitive personal or financial information to be disclosed as part of the interview process or a condition of employment. You may always confirm that a position is legitimate by visiting our career site. Should you see an opportunity of interest, I would encourage you to apply directly for the position via our career site for your protection.

Terrible hiring process. I received an email on 11/24, which is 2 days before Thanksgiving, saying I was “shortlisted” for the position, and that I would need to contact the head recruiter “immediately” to set something up either for the following day, 11/25, or on Thanksgiving Day, 11/26. That was short notice enough, but I figured I’d give them a shot and requested an interview for 11/26 thinking it would be a brief discussion to see what the position was about. I contacted the head recruiter “immediately” as requested after receiving that email (around 9am), and he responded by asking for my name, address, age, and nationality. Thought that was kind of weird because they jumped straight to that information without even speaking to me on the phone, but I replied around 1:30pm with the requested info anyway. The head recruiter then responded 8 hours later that same night (11/24) around 9:30pm, giving me a form with 15 in-depth questions, saying it was "required" that I fill it out by 12 noon the very next day, which would be 11/25. The person who initially reached out gave me the option to either set something up for 11/25, or 11/26 (Thanksgiving Day) and I purposely chose 11/26 as I'm currently working full time and taking classes, so I needed at least one day to prepare. It’s as if the hiring team doesn’t have open communication with each other - why the head recruiter would expect a candidate to fill out such a long form and sent to him in less than 24 hours is absolutely beyond me. As I said, I purposely chose the later date for a reason. It just goes to show that this company has absolutely no respect for their candidate’s time. If they’re already being disrespectful and unclear in the initial hiring process, then just imagine how you would be treated as an employee. Mind you, after all this, I still had not actually spoken to anyone over the phone to learn about the position. They just kept asking for more information via email, requested things be done "immediately", changed their requirements for the interview without any notice, and expected you to fill out a questionnaire in less than 24 hours of sending it out - even though I made it clear I wanted to schedule something for the later date that they had given me the option for. I can’t see myself working for a company with such unprofessionalism and disregard for people’s time. Immediately declined to move forward.

      Question 1

Expect to be asked to take time out of your day to fill out an in-depth questionnaire (without even speaking to anyone) and have it turned in in less than 24 hours of them sending it. It's like you have nothing better to do.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Gannett Fleming does not have a position open for a remote software engineer. The interview invitation you received was not issued by Gannett Fleming nor any agent acting on behalf of Gannett Fleming; unfortunately, it was fraudulent. This type of fraud is normally committed through online services such as fraudulent websites, fabricated job postings, text messages, emails, and online instant messaging interviews from individuals who claim to represent our firm. Gannett Fleming does not extend offers of employment without conducting an in-person or virtual video interview, does not require sensitive financial information to be disclosed as part of the interview process nor as a condition of employment, and we wouldn't ask you to reveal your nationality. I regret you were subjected to such fraud and deception. You may always confirm that a position is legitimate by visiting our career site, and should you see an opportunity of interest, I encourage you to apply directly for the position via our career site to ensure your protection.
