There was a two week gap between being invited to do a phone screening and the recruiter’s availability for said phone screening. The screening was very impersonal and rushed. I was asked to verbally rate myself on a scale of 1-10 for my competency on certain tools, something that should have been on the application. A week later, I was invited to next phase of the interview process (a zoom interview with the hiring team) and was asked about availability the following week. I ended up cancelling the Zoom interview because in that four week time span, I was interviewing for other positions, received offers, and ultimately accepted an offer. Who knows how many candidates were lost due to large amount of time between interview stages.
